Going to RADA at last!

Banter Lineup
Straightforward plug
I won't dresss this up. It's straight off the press release:

FREE tickets have just been released for the second series of BBC Radio 4's comedy panel show BANTER, hosted by ANDREW COLLINS, of Radio 2's The Day The Music Died. Your regular panellists are back; RICHARD HERRING (BBC2's Fist of Fun, Radio 4's On The Hour) RUSSELL HOWARD (if.comeddies Nominee 2006, BBC Radio 2's Out to Lunch, Chortle Award Winner 2006) and WILL SMITH (South Bank Show Award nominee 2005, Time Out Comedy Award Winner 2004) to discuss, debate and decide upon their definitive "top threes" in categories covering anything from science to cinema, and from playwrights to PlayStation.

It's a show for everyone who's ever debated subjects such as:
Who are the three most influential women of the 20th century?
Who is the greatest sitcom character of all time?
And perhaps even more importantly ...
What are the three best chocolate bars, ever?

As well as the regular panellists, BANTER will feature guest appearances from a selection of the nation's finest and best-loved comedy talent. Previous guests have included DAVE GORMAN (BBC2's The Dave Gorman Collection, BBC3's Annually Retentive and Comedy Central's The Daily Show) CHRIS ADDISON (BBC4's The Thick Of It, "He's brilliant. No question" The Times) Perrier Award winner JENNY ECLAIR (BBC2's Grumpy Old Women) and ARTHUR SMITH (Radio 4's Excess Baggage, BBC2's Grumpy Old Men).

Recordings will take place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Malet Street, Central London on the following dates:

Sun 10 Sept (two shows; Doors open: 17.00 & 19:00)
Tues 26 Sept (Doors open: 18:00)
Thurs 28 Sept (Doors open: 18:00)
Sun Oct 1 (two shows; Doors open: 17:00 & 19:00)

If you would like to get your hands on free audience tickets then go to TV Recordings, but you had better be quick as we only have a strictly limited allocation of tickets.

Cool. I've signed up for tickets for the 10/9 19:00 recording - hope that's a good 'un.

The press release makes it sound like an extended versio of your radio show - 'What are the three best chocolate bars, ever?' - but that's a good thing.

I've resisted saying this for obvious reasons but last week I dreamt that Herring gave you a dozen red roses and one single one while you were broadcasting the festive fifty from a walk-in cupboard. I only mention it because if it comes true on Sunday I'd kick myself for not.

It won't come true for at least two weeks, Simon, as Richard is still in Edinburgh this coming Sunday and next Sunday, due to the Indian Summer festival coverage on 6 Music, I get the day off again. Richard and I will be reunited on September 10. (By the way, this Sunday, my old friend Adam Smith from Empire, who reviewed the films on my Teatime show for three years, will be doing the Sunday papers.)

Great. I'm looking forward to this returning to the radio (in addition to TWTTIN). When is the first show due to be aired?

Don't have the cash or the time to come down to a recording unfortunately due to costly house repairs & decorating.

*deleted moan regarding the lack of decent tv/radio shows being recorded in Northern England*

Good luck with the show.

I've booked my tickets. I want to learn more about these people you call serial killers... ;-)

By the way none of the photos are particularly flattering are they? Will Smith looks OK, but the rest of you look much better in the flesh than this photo would suggest...

Ah okay, sort of wish I hadn't mentioned it Andrew, but then again there's always flower delivery services...

Welcome back blog, bit worried there for a moment.

Stuart, I can't argue with you on the publicity photo front. Russell looks simple. Richard simply looks perturbed. And I look like someone has pinched my bum. Which they hadn't. Not the photographer's fault, who is the same one who did the excellent Not Going Out ones - these are just the pics that were chosen. At least it proves none of us are important enough to get photo approval! And the colours are nice.

Do people often pinch your bum and photograph the resulting facial expression then?
