The Not Going Out Juggernaut Rolls On!
We are starlight, we are golden. We've only gone and been nominated in the Best Sitcom category at the 47th Rose D'Or (ie. Golden Rose) Television Festival in May, which used to be held in Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline where smoke was once famously on the water, but is now held in Lucerne. I doubt there'll be a lot of litter, either way. BBC comedies dominate the category: we're in there with The Royle Family, The Thick Of It and, irony of ironies, My Family - as well as some foreign sitcoms like Germany's Turkisch fur Anfanger and Finland's The Lighthouse, which I would love to see. There's a Best Comedy category too, which we're not in, but includes Vicar Of Dibley, Man Stroke Woman, Green Wing, Tittybangbang, That Mitchell & Webb Look and The Worst Christmas Of My Life. It seems that UK comedy is all over the nominations, which I believe is quite typical. I suppose we have to be good at something in this country.
Anyway, whether Lee and I will be going out to Lucerne, I don't yet know. If I may just add this: bloody hell.

Good luck. I hear those German sitcoms are absolutely HILARIOUS.
I just have to say, again, very many congratulations. This is absolutely excellent news and should leave you in no doubt that Not Going Out is a quality show and that all your and Lees effort has paid off.
You might allow yourself a few glasses of champagne this time around!!
Well done to both you and Lee.
Wow, up against Turkisch fur Anfanger. That'll be tough.
Go if you get the change. Some buddies went when it was at Montreux and had a blast. Though one, walking back to their apartment a little worse for wear, managed to wander down a jetty and fall arse over teakettle into the lake.
Marvellous. Good luck!
If only Grass got more recognition, too. Although I noticed the other day that Sean Lock is a fan:

Excellent news, fingers crossed for another award to put in your trophy cabinet!
This sucks. Now you'll never want to go back to 6 Music. The juggernaut will roll on to greater conquests, no doubt. Never mind the champagne, this nomination should leave you drunk with success. I can't imagine, but I'm guessing it's pretty nice.
Tittybangbang??? Award??? God help us...
Blimey, that's brilliant - congrats Andrew, that piles the pressure on for the second season/series!
You could share a table with Robert Lindsay...
You'll have to change the title to 'Maybe I Will Go Out Then'. Congratulations.
More great news!
Do you realise that if you win the Golden Rose you'll have gone one better than The Goodies??
Glückwünsche.
Welch das Problem mit deutschen Situationskomödien ist. Ich sage, dass ich sage, dass ich sage, Mein Hund hat keine Nase. Wie riecht er?
With his Helmut. Of course.
Congratulations, blah blah, deserved, blah blah, etc.
The Royle Family and The Thick Of It? That's exalted company. I hate to say it but The Royle Family - The Queen Of Sheba was simply the best thing I've seen on TV in the last five years. (But I do have to say it because it didn't get said enough after it was on.) But good luck anyway, and congratulations again.
Congratulations indeed, but I think Mr Suicide raises an important point. Know what you are up against. A German woman I met recently told me a joke which had her, at least, reeling with laughter: "What is the difference between a Turkish person and a Polish person?" (answer) " I DON'T KNOW!!"
When you can come up with gags like that, you'll know you've really made it. Until then, be happy to have been invited to the party.
