Deleted

TVCTMITC

The book may or may not be out there in the shops yet, but all is not lost. Those extraordinary gentlemen at TV Cream, the web's favourite telly archive, have done it again, producing this hand-tooled exclusive adjunct to That's Me In The Corner, comprising all the "deleted scenes" I gathered up after the final draft was signed off. We're talking about anecdotes and offcuts and aborted attempts at starting a chapter that were trimmed from the final manuscript for reasons of space or quality. I've annotated them all, and Graham Kibble-White did the rest, with some never-before-seen pictorial matter too. Big thanks to TV Cream (whose homepage is here) once again.

looking forward to reading the new book, Andrew - and these offcuts certainly wet the palette. However, there is a lot of 'bridling' going on in them!

I would love to have seen the strop. Clearly you are not a naturally 'stroppy' person, and that would have made it so much better. I bet Stuart's face was a picture, too.

"Deleted Scenes" makes it sound like a Hollywood Movie. But seriously they were enjoyable and I'm looking forward to the book.

What happened to the novel you were writing? Might you pick it up again sometime?

I would dearly love to write my first novel next. I have some ideas. I just need the time. Oh, and an advance!

Best of luck with the novel writing. Time and money - that's something we could all do with a bit more of!

Fella, great "deleted scenes".

I used to get terrible asthma when I was a kid. Luckily, on one of our farms we kept goats. So for three years I basically drank goats' milk. Cleared it up a treat, haven't had it since. Give it a shot.

Well, having lived voraciously through the music press of the Eighties and Nineties (still do, I suppose, to an extent) that's really whetted the appetite for this book even more. I left work early yesterday to try and pick up a copy to no avail. Well, there was none in Smiths and frustratingly no staff in the Kettering branch of Waterstones at all. Just one customer, I knocked on the staff door and even peaked into the (open) stock room, called out and there was no reply. Felt like taking some "3 for 2's" just for the hell of it. Can it be true that sales in High Street book shops are "disappointing"?

Could this... be the first documentary evidence of this book in the wild?

Also it gives me the chance to say That's "That's Me In The Corner" in the corner.

I'll get me coat..
