Has anyone seen this book?

It's in the shops, apparently. However, I have yet to see a copy. My publisher assures me that there are 6,000 out there. If you see one, please could you let me know where, and how it was displayed? I've never had access to my own market research team before! It'll be like an Easter Egg hunt for paranoid authors.

I bought one in Borders N1 on Monday. Displayed in pile on one of the shops at the front of the store.
I bought it last Thursday at WHSmith Heathrow Terminal 4. See my previous post.
I'll have a hunt over the weekend and let you know if I see the lesser spotted That's Me In The Corner. Of course I will buy it when I see it.
My copy arrived from Amazon today.
I tried, but no copies in Borders or WHSmiths at Birstall in Leeds.
I'll have a look at WHSmith's at Waterloo station tomorrow. As long we have the stations and airports!
(Oh, by the way, I'm on Loose Ends tomorrow. So's Nick Cave, and Tim Vine, and Donal MacIntyre - that's a line up isn't it? I think it goes out on R4 at 6pm.)
I put a picture of that book on this blog, last Saturday. Under the post marked 'Deleted.' So it does exist. Honest.
I have ordered mine on Amazon. But them felt i should have kept my powder dry for a month as there are 48 optimists trying to sell Where Did it All Go Right for £0.01 on the marketplace. No.49 is trying to shift it at £0.10 now that is optimism.
Seen it, bought it, read it!
Smiths in Worthing, in the humour section. Only one problem, tear on page 11/12 but still readable!
A fantastic read Andrew, as good as the others in the 'trilogy'.
I see that Smiths now have a 'tragic life story' section, surely that is for the reader to decide?
Many thanks
Ian
Thanks for that, Ian. And to all who have paid coin of the realm for it thus far.
It's funny about the 0.01p copies on Amazon. I sort of like that you can buy it for 0.01p. When I first saw a book of mine, the Billy Bragg one, in a second hand shop my first thought was one of horror (how could anyone give it away?!), but this soon turned to a warm glow. My book was back out in the world. When people tell me they enjoyed one of my books and lent it to their sister, who lent it to their friend, I am delighted. It's not all about royalties, it's about being out there, being read.
I've seen it a lot this last couple of days, in the space my husband's face used to be in... he seems to be enjoying it!
You'll bepleased to know, Andrew, that I lent WDIAGR? to both of my sisters, my Mum, my girlfriend and a couple of friends. It's one of the most well-thumbed books on my shelf.
Oh, and one of the footnotes in that particular book cleared-up something that had been bugging my sister for years. Namely, the name of a 70s sitcom starring Robin Bailey, who used the catchphrase 'I heard that. Pardon?'
Got my copy from Play.com this morning. I plan to have a quiet weekend with it. If it's even a patch on the previous two Andrew, it'll be great. I can't wait!
Have you guys come across a site before called www.bookcrossing.com ? (sorry - don't know how to make proper hyperlinks!). It allows you to release your books back into the wild and track their progress around the globe. What a great idea!
All the best
Doug
I actually forwent the £0.01 to give my copy to a friend. Glad you approve.
I may be mad, but no-one's getting my WDIAGR! I've read it 3 times now, since I first bought it. I find that I can just dip in and out of it and still raise a smile.
"I heard that - pardon" was actually the catchphrase of Uncle Stavely (Robin Bailey played Uncle Mort), who carried his batman's ashes around in a box and was played by Leslie Sarony, popular songwriter who wrote a number of hits, including "Here were are again/happy as can be/all good friends and jolly good company" and "Ain't It Grand to be Bloomin' Well Dead? Parts One and Two" (because you could only get three minutes on a 78 it had to be split between the sides, like American Pie), recorded by The Barmy Brothers.
I've not seen the book yet, sorry, but I don't get out much.
Ordered my copy from Play.com on Thursday, and it arrived this morning. Look forward to reading it. Have a great weekend!
I got a copy in Waterstones in Birmingham. It was in the 3 for 2 offer.
Failed to locate it in WH SMiths or Borders though. WDIAGR was avalable though.
This doesn't seem to be available in Hong Kong. I gave the name to a shop though and they emailed me within a few hours saying they found it and would order it for me - 3 to 4 weeks, HK$187 (GBP12). English books have a high tax here for some reason. Any plans for a Chinese translation?
I phoned Waterstones and Borders on Oxford St last Friday to ask if they had it in yet - but neither did. I went to see if I could spot it in Borders on Tuesday, and failed to see it on the ground floor, but had to get to work before there was time to ask where/if I'd find it.
I'll try Waterstones or Smiths again on Monday.
Where else can we see or hear you talking about the book Andrew - we'll be listening to Loose Ends later!
Any reviews yet? Please post links!
I understand it's reviewed in the new OK! Nowhere else yet. On my way in to do Loose Ends (which was good fun) I saw the book in WHSmith on Waterloo station and in Borders on Oxford St. It's in a buy-one-get-one-for-half-price offer at Smith's, which means you can buy mine and then Stuart's for half price! Or vice versa.
Bought from Waterstones Liverpool this week, and it was in the humour section too. Unlike the TV Cream book, which regularly turns up there under 'music'. And yes, I have been sad enough to look for it regularly...
I saw it today, also in Waterstones, in this Surrey backwater (3 for 2 offer, several copies very prominent on the table near the entrance). Wasn't in Smiths or British Bookshops or Marks and Spencers.
Your Scottish Marketing Team report is as follows:-
Apparently it is in WH Smith in Central Station in Glasgow prominently displayed in the centre aisle next to the new book by Billy Bragg and on a 2 for the price of 1 offer. Sadly I won't get a chance to get up to Glasgow to get it myself until Tuesday, so I'll look forward to it until then. I had a good search in WH Smith in Greenock today and they don't seem to have it, although they do have HKIMN (only one copy mind you.) I don't know if you can do anything about that Andrew.
Andrew, apologies. It would appear that the Glasgow Central Station book offer was a "buy one get one half price" offer. The Marketing Assistant concerned has been duly reprimanded.
Found it on a table downstairs in Waterstones in Nottingham. If I can work out how to transfer a photo from my phone to PC then you'll also receive pictoral proof...
It's in the current 3 for 2 offer...
With the 3 for 2 books in Waterstone's, Exeter - with the biographies. Up to chapter 10 so far and enjoying it very much. I think I had every magazine you've written about so far. Now I just buy Word.
Purchased in Waterstones in Aylesbury. Pile on the front table in the store in the 3 for 2 section so I bought your old mucker Stuart Maconie's book as well.
Found one copy in WH Smith, Newark. They don't have one copy now, I bought it.
Found it in the entertainment and music section rather than biography which is where their sole copy of HKIMN was on display.
You really are a tremendous group of people. I've now seen it on a 3 for 2 table in Waterstone's. I'd appreciate it if you spot any reviews. Anyone buy OK? (I have done many times in the past - albeit usually when I'm on holiday - so don't be shy.)
WH Smith at Charing Cross had around ten copies on Friday, prominently displayed. The Oxford Street branch has had one copy tucked away in the biography section for about one and a half weeks. No copies at all at WH Smith in Gillingham or Chatham.
Would a branch of Waterstone's be a Waterstone's' branch ? Waterstone's's ...??
Some Suffolk research for you Andrew;
Waterstones in Bury St Edmunds had three copies but couldn't find any of them (they were re-arranging the store for a signing by Jodi Picoult), but offered to post one to me as soon as they found them. Incidently, they had your first book in the biography section. Smiths in B St Ed. didn't have the new one, but did have the second one, in the music section.
Waterstones in Ipswich saved the day, and, as reported elsewhere, it is part of the 3 for 2 offer, and Smiths in Ipswich had it in the biography section.
Why the 'OK!' enquiry? Is there a feature on your new house, with costume changes and everything? I'll have to go check now...
Stephen, in Ipswich, for 'Where Did It All Go Right?'
Many thanks, Stephen. Don't get too excited about OK! I can say with my hand on my heart I will never allow OK! into my beautiful home. Ever. But I'm told that the book is reviewed in the Hot Stars magazine that comes stapled, pointlessly, in the middle. I have been too ashamed to flick through it in the shop.
Andrew, My quest to buy your fine book was stymied this morning as WH Smith was shut "due to unforeseen circumstances". I'll need to try again tomorrow, and will look out for reviews too.
Andrew
There's a customer review at Amazon here:-

Waterstones in Kettering had some in on Thursday, still "out the back", no sign off an offer so I paid full price. Not to worry. Tried to start reading whilst driving home, a bad idea and one that didn't last.
I've been reading "Pies" at the moment, about half way through and it's picking up after a slow start but I got stuck straight into "That's Me". Dropped off at 4am Monday morning reading it and could barely stop last night. Tis good. Loved the NME years as between 88-92 the paper was unmissable, great to read the behind the scenes stuff. Must get out my original c60 of the radio five show. Does anyone have this on mp3? Or a copy of the Maconie / Brown Manchester TV show on tape / DVD?
Congratulations Andrew.
It's reviewed in Q this month. Boy has that magazine gone downhill.
I forgot to say, page 137, 4 stars. (Thank god I've now got the hang of posting comments again)

P.S. Let's be having those Jock n Roll Album votes
Hooray - I managed to get TMITC this morning at the main WH Smith in Sauchihall Street, Glasgow. It wasn't as prominently displayed as the one in the Central Station Branch, and there was only one (in the Biography section) which I am now the proud possessor of. It's looking good on a first quick flick before work.
Well Done Andrew.
Hoping to pick up the book tomorrow, as I'm off for a weekend away, but I haven't read the first two yet I'm afraid! Do you think I should be reading them in order to get the full effect?
Watched and enjoyed the first episode of Not Going Out on my Sky+ box thanks to the current Monday Night repeat run. I liked it, good work. Looking forward to seeing more.
I saw several copies in the WHSmith in Reading railway station. It was stickered as buy one get one half price
My Amazon.co.uk review is now on-line. It's a five star read, according to me. It's pushed the average up to 4.5 stars.
Waterloo station, Smith's Tuesday 8th May am - location just the ticket, I'd have thought...
Bought mine in WH Smith in Leeds railway station.
Borders at Birstall were clueless when asked about it. Didn't even appear to be on their computer system.
Picked one up in Waterloo yesterday and got Pies and Prejudice while I was at it, half price. Good use of a book token I thought.
I saw it in WH Smiths in Leeds train station but I bought mine from Amazon - spookily along with Pies & Prejudice!
Just ordered one from Pplay. Came up when I click on the Music section. Can't be that many more unaccounted for now!
Went to Borders on Oxford Street to buy it last week. It took them ten minutes to find it for me, but they then brought a big pile and put them in the biography section.

There are about 20 signed copies in Waterstone's, Worthing ...
Thanks for coming down for the Artists + Makers Festival.
