Going Out

NGO2 line-up

OK, as you know, series two of Not Going Out goes out from next Friday, September 7, at 9.30. But as the date of transmission has been pulled forward, we've only just started recording. If you'd like free tickets to any of the remaining recordings (they're at Thames in Teddington), use this link. You might even see me, lurking around, trying not to get in the way of the cameras on the studio floor, which is my preferred vantage point. You'll certainly see Lee Mack, Tim Vine, Sally Bretton, Miranda Hart and Simon Dutton being very funny, and getting things wrong, and having to retake them. Ah, the magic of a studio recording! End of plug.

And here are two more nice new press shots I have just taken receipt of.

I would have loved to have gone along, but unfortunately I'm in North Yorkshire for the next few days, then knocking around Liverpool until the end of October...boo!

Hope it all goes well, anyway.

Can I ask roughly how long it took to write each episode? I have been trying to write a sitcom script for years. I have the ideas, but not the jokes, which I gather are rather important to the 'com' aspect of it.

I'm your pole opposite Chris, I know I could write/come up with some com (mostly bad) but have scratched my head for years for an idea - surely we could make a decent pilot out of this in itself!!

I'm serious tho' - let me know what you think...

I'll try and get down for NGO, Andrew - you'll easily spot me, I'll be the only woman in the 'Save Greyfriars Bus Station' T-shirt.

Sounds good, my email address is chris_burgess79@hotmail.com, if you want to email me a few thoughts.

Is it possible to write a script via email? Maybe this is the future!

Andrew, I think I can see the tip of your shoe creeping into frame on the left of the photos. Your lurking technique needs improving.

Ooh, marvellous. Are you excited Andrew? And will you be wearing the now legendary Next shorts?

Wow, Simon Dutton, I haven't seen him since the Saint.

Oh dear, Tim Vine and Miranda Hart. Possibly the two least funny people on Earth.

Tim Vine is very amusing. Which is why he is a professional comedian.

I will be tuning in next Friday, you can be sure of it. Looking forward to it.

(In my opinion) Tim Vine is probably one of the funniest comedians around at the moment - his live shows are legendary.

In my opinion he is terrible . He's a through back to Russ Abbott's Fun House. His comedic "talent" consists of goggle-eyed jazz hand gurning which is presumably why he is appearing in this turgid sitcom.
I imagine he was "wacky" at school and decided he could make a living out of it. We're not exactly talking Chris Morris or Simon Pegg are we?

Turgid! Haven't you heard? I censor comments that have a go at me, or my friends!

Spartacus I would learn how to spell throwor more accurately which one to use before you cast stones.

See what I did on the thread below I said ignore them and then I react. Hopeless.

I will give it a try Andrew. Never gave it a glance first time because the standard of BBC1 sitcoms has not been great in recent years lots of stuff with Neil Morrissey and Amanda Holden always a red light but I like Lee and You are alright so I will Sky+ (officially a verb) it.

Ah, pointing out spelling mistakes, the last refuge for someone with no argument.

I hope that makes up for having no sex life.

Is simon pegg really considered a peer of chris morris these days?I must have missed the bit of his career where he did something funny...

Can't be bothered to register or justify my pointless sniping

Simon Pegg was funny in the Buttercup ad.

Friday nights will be worth staying in with NGO at 9:30 and IT Crowd at 10:00. (I think both shows are very funny in different ways and was worried that they may clash)

Did you not write for the first episode Andrew? Didn't see your name on the credits.
