Podcast II

After yet more technical heartache, Richard Herring and I managed to get our second fortnightly podcast up onto a webpage from which it has now been converted by our friend Mark at the British Sitcom Guide. You are now able to listen to 51 minutes (I know that's too long) of me and him going on about Downing Street, Katie Price, feral thugs and the Beijing Olympics. Be aware that the final 20 minutes are quite rude. I don't know why.

The technology works! Podcast No.2 downloaded automatically into my i-Tunes. Lovely. Now, wash your mouths out with soap.

Gari, does it also appear on your iPod? For some reason it doesn't appear on mine, and the Word podcasts always do. Any idea? (We did submit it to iTunes, but they ignored us.)

It does now. Originally, with the first one, it appeared in my "Music".
However, by clicking on the Advanced tab, then Subscribe to podcast, I copy and pasted the URL http://feeds.feedburner.com/CollingsAndHerrin
It then downloaded into my Podcasts, and last night, No2 downloaded automatically. I hope that helps and works for you.

Not appearing in my itunes even though subscribed, perhaps there's a potty mouth filter somewhere

The syncing to your iPod is due to the settings for your iPod. When you plug it in, click on your iPod on the "devices" bit (which only shows when it's plugged in) and there's a "podcasts" tab there. Fiddle with the settings there.

By the way, your bit about having to read the first two books before reading the third is about to get you two extra sales. I bought That's Me In The Corner in Borders the other day (they had neither of your others!) so before starting it, after hearing that, I now feel compelled to buy the other two. If the bailiffs come to visit me, it's entirely your fault!

Thank you twice over, Sven. I have now fiddled with my iTunes/iPod and the C&H podcasts are on my listening device. (You may find it odd that I should want to listen to my own podcast on the train, but in truth, it's market research - we want to improve it and it's useful to hear how it sounds on public transport where, we hope, others are listening) And I hope you like the books - they're available for virtually 0p on Amazon secondhand sales. (Not including airport tax.)

Why are you wearing a hat indoors?!

It's a visual reference to what we were discussing in the first podcast: me being stopped and searched under the Prevention of Terrorism Act because I was wearing a coat and that woolly hat, pulled down. It's my terrorist look.

Oh, and Rich is drunk on topical comedy, Dara. I can vouch for his abstinence.

Without looking it up I can say that Spencer Perceval was murdered by John Bellingham. This is mainly due to the ridiculously long single released by iLiKETRAiNS last year.

Very enjoyable, I did like the forty minute water-shed, if only all media were like that as I don't think many teens could watch something for forty minutes without the threat of violence arriving.

Andrew, I wish I could download your second podcast but I am far from my computer -- in Argentina! I have your first podcast with me and will listen to it soon. Maybe after I see some penguins. ;) I hiked on a glacier today so penguins are in my near future. Can“t wait to tune in and laugh. Hope you and Richard are well.

hi , andrew, just to say i very much enjoyed the podcasts, is this going to be a regular occurance or more ad hoc?
just no note that even with the built in mic on the lap top both of you are more audiable than Mr Ellen of the Word Podcast Parish[ love the gentleman , but next time you see him, ask him to sit closer to the mike]
looking forward to the next. [would love to end on some joke about having the moon on a stick, but haven't got the time...
backtoblake

The podcast is planned as fortnightly. Richard and I have earmarked every other Friday for future recordings. There's one this Friday, so keep checking the link!
