This is Richard and I after the recording of our
sixth podcast, which is either the second or third weekly one, depending on whether you count the last fortnightly one we did, not knowing that it would be a week before the next one, if you see what I mean. We are posing in front of the free poster in today's
Guardian of 600 policeman in riot gear raiding a street in North London - the equivalent of porn if you are a
Daily Mail reader and want more police on the streets. I am wearing a suit and white shirt because I am playing drums with the 6 Music band at the 6 Music party tonight and it is our band uniform. Check later, as usual, with the
British Sitcom Guide to hear the podcast, which helpfully ends at 20 minutes for Bill, whose walk to work is only 20 minutes long, but then carries on until 52 minutes for everyone else. Also subscribe via iTunes, even if you don't need to, for self-evident reasons. It's either help us up the charts or see us descend into misery, alcoholism and death like Tony Hancock. And you wouldn't want that.

Fantastic this week - thanks guys!
The bit where you pretended to turn the podcast off had me laughing out loud.
At the time of writing you're up to 19 in the charts. To do my bit I've managed to stop myself looking at Nuts*.
* That sounds funny - I mean Nuts' podcast!
Any thoughts on the reminiscing last night on Radio 2 re: your "baggy period"? Your calves were mentioned in a rather nostalgic tone by Mr Maconie.
I hear they're now planning a six part late night series to celebrate...

I'm surprised that Rich isn't aware of the branch of BB's in Shepherds Bush's glittering retail enormodome, the W12 centre.
Another funny one guys.
Another great 'cast Mr C! I'm surprised at how the Word podcast has an explicit rating and yours doesn't though. Also, the only downside was a lack of Jon Gaunt's column, or 'a lack of Gauntness' if you will
I missed Stuart talking about my shorts on R2 last night. I will Listen Again.
"Let us consider the rice-cake". The best start to a podcast in the brief history of podcasts.
Number 17! In front of Russell Howard & Jon Richardson!!
Up to 16 now, would you like me to delete it from my iTunes and download it again, maybe?
Much obliged.
Thanks for thought and the minute in the sun.
OK I know it might dent your ratings, but any chance of a transcript of the podcasts for technophobes like me who only get to use public library computers?
TONYB
On the subject of Stuart Maconie, did you see the photo in Saturday's Mirror of the Maconie/Mermaid hybrid? No, seriously, did you see it? He can say no more about your shorts after that. His cleavage may interest some of the Nuts podcasters.
"This is Richard and I after the recording of our sixth podcast"
Forgive my pedantry, but shouldn't that be 'This is Richard and me...'?
BTW, I enjoyed your book 'That's I In The Corner' :-)
Nice podcasts. Please keep em coming!
Andrew, great podcast, really enjoyed it!! Thought you might like to know that I have just returned from the Harbour Club resort in Los Gigantes, where the reception there operate a "book swap" service for guests, the idea being you leave one of your own books once finished and "borrow" another one. One of the many books on offer was "That's Me In The Corner" by your good self! You can truly call yourself global now!!
Hello Mr Collins. Sorry if someone has already asked you this, but how do you feel about the current 6Music hullaballo? You know, the George Lamb, Lesley Douglas, women have no brains, lets just dumb down a great radio station thing?
Gari, I didn't see the picture of Stuart in the Mirror. Anybody got it?
Tim, thanks for the reportage - I wish I knew where Los Gigantes was! (I could look it up, but I quite like the mystery. It sounds made up.)
And Rowan, I can't really add to the George Lamb debate as I've only ever heard his morning show on 6 Music once, and that was his first day, so it would be unfair of me to comment. I have seen the TV ad, which perplexes me, I must admit. I wonder who the station is attempting to appeal to. Different people to when I was there, which now feels like an awfully long time ago. I'm still mates with 6 Music and on their books for potential holiday cover, so I'm not going to get my hands dirty, but I have read the message board threads and I do know that George Lamb has gone overground, in that he's in the new Viz, which I haven't seen yet either.
The Viz cartoon of Lamb can be seen here...

The advert is aimed at people of a low IQ who enjoying shouting 'Shabba' and are not remotely interested in music.
It used to be a music station and I find it heart-breaking that it's being dismantled.
Good lord. I'd had the Viz cartoon explained to me, but I hadn't seen it. Apparently there's a big Gideon Coe fan at the magazine and this is their revenge. It's quite shocking!
Hi Andrew, Los Gigantes is a real place! It is actually one of the few resorts in Tenerife that hasn't been blighted by over developement and too many Brits. It means "The Giants" which is the name for the huge cliffs which surround the resort, a truly cosmopolitan place and a worthy home for your novel!!
