Take that, Nuts!

Photographic proof that, according to our masterplan, we overtook Nuts in the iTunes podcast charts on Wednesday March 19, 2008. Our next podcast appears this Friday. (I've just noticed that Nuts is a video podcast. I wonder what's on it? I will never look to find out.)

Congratulations! These podcasts are fantastic. I was incredibly annoyed when I thought my iPod had broken, because these are perfect lengths to listen to whilst going for a wander on a weekend.

Keep up the fantastic work, both of you.

No.

You should look.

Know your enemy

And have a wank while looking at it.

Though from the 10 seconds I watched you would have to be 12 and never have seen a woman before to find it exciting. It's like the 21st century freeman's catalogue.

Maybe we should do a video podcast in just our pants AC?

Many congrats! I think it's best you don't look at the Nutscast - I never have but I'm sure I can guess. I did once see a copy of Nuts magazine with the headline "Revealed - What Happens When Girls Shower!"

You may think that they clean themselves, oh no, that's where you'd be wrong. Nuts' highly investigative journalistic skills discovered that they wear full make-up, skimpy underwear and, more often than not, take a friend

The only thing I don't like about your podcast is the sound quality. I know it's done on an internal mic but it just doesn't feel right. Have you tried getting those expensive microphones working yet?

My girlfriend blamed you for giving her a headache.

You've overtaken Fearne Cotton & Reggie Yates on the Radio 1 Chart Show aswell. Well Done on the Podcast I suggest the Sony Radio Awards do an award for Podcasts or set up an awards ceremony for Podcasts. What do you think Andrew?

Isn't that the charm of them? Podcasts wouldn't be proper if they were totally perfect. I did my first few with some sort of weird reverb picking up the internal fan of my laptop - classy - no one seemed to mind..Am currently hovering in the top 50 over at Switchpod or Slutbitch as I like to call it. Itunes wouldn't have me - something about violation - oops.

Richard emailed me this evening to tell me that we had made the hallowed Top 25 of the general podcast charts. But I just looked and we were back down to 31. You have to be alert to spot our victories.

Well done, Andrew Collins! I really enjoyed all four of your podcasts so far. The stuff about Cupid and Fate was spot on and very funny.

We are 31 if you click on the top 100 bit, but actually 25 on the list of the top 25 if you just look on the podcast page.

Hi Andrew, I too love the podcast, but echo the comments about the sound quality.

May I recommend another podcast that I think will appeal to some Collings and Herrin fans? Martin Kelner's Piss Poor Podcast is a joy week after week. Not sure if it's ok to do links here, so google it, if interested.

Andrew: Perhaps the 'short podcast for free, long podcast for subscribers' that Kelner does is a model that you might want to look at if you're hoping for a return on the C+H podcast?

Cheers

I thought the sound quality was fine -- 100% crystal clear on the internet terminal where I downloaded all of them. Do not (myself) understand other peeps' comments about poor sound quality.

I joined one of those websites where they offer you your money back if you don't meet anyone within six months. What they didn't say was what happens if you *do* meet someone and date for precisely six months before finding out that he is a sad, lying fantasist? Is there a refunds policy then? Can I return this deceitful dickhead for one of the better specimens on your books?

Was about to say, "Ha! They've spelt your name wrong". Then I looked at it again...

David Stevenson, please keep any more helpful suggestions about charging for the podcast to yourself. It's fine as it is, thanks very much. Also, I think the poor sound quality and non-existent production add to the charm, so who needs the expensive mics?
