Seaside Special

It is with great pleasure that I announce my second appearance at the Worthing Artists & Makers Festival, which runs from July 4 (next Friday) to July 20, and takes in all sorts of performance and art across Worthing and Horsham. Last year, I did a talk at Waterstone's, which attracted an even smaller audience than last night's School For Gifted Children, but I really enjoyed it, as it was just like sitting around and having a chat with some nice people. This year I'm at Methvens bookshop in South Street, from 7.30, if you're in the area. I'll be talking about this (which is published, apparently, on July 3, in the more affordable "small paperback" form, with a much more friendly cover and a quote from Simon Pegg on the front):

And it will be a bit like this:

I was planning to do my Life Story By Laminate, but if I can hook my laptop up to a screen, there may be illustrations too. I may play a couple of clips of me interviewing famous film stars!

They should put you in an ACTUAL corner. That'd work as a nice marketing trick.

There was talk of a Northampton event but nothing came of it. Also, at one stage, there was going to be Northampton Literary Festival but they couldn't get the funding, so that went by the wayside too.

Funding for a Festival - pah, we manage without! Mind you, would be nice to have some...

That's a shame. Perhaps Anglian Water could be asked to fund a festival, as a penance for all the trouble they've presided over; the bloody shower, wet blankets, damp rags etc.

Is that you in the photo at the table in the darkened bookshop? You seem to have a different face.

That is certainly Andrew, because that is me getting a signed treasure from him! And to the left is my GLW!

Andrew, I happened to pass through Worthing yesterday afternoon, and noticed that it boasts an Indian restaurant called 'Spices' which offers a gluten-free menu.

Just thought you might like to know, if you happen to get a bit peckish on Friday.
