Hats off to Chris Campling, who could be male or female, for writing such nice things about the C&H podcast in The Times today (The Knowledge supplement). This was the Steve Brown picture they used.

And this is the cutting itself:

Great review. Very high-profile too, that should move you up the pod charts (top of the pods?)

He's definitely a man though Andrew. Be honest, no grown woman with a proper job would listen to bum rape and necrophilia stories.

Surely they're all to sensible? Let's hope I'm wrong.

Finally sorted my podcast issue, and I see that according to the i-Tunes Top Audio Podcast, you sit at number 24, just behind Terry Wogan. Not bad at all for 2 blokes in an attic. In fact, let's be honest, pretty much every other entry in the chart has backing from the BBC, Fox, HBO or Channel4.
Only exceptions being Gervais and Fuky House London Style. Which I assume the kids in the milk bars listen to when not listening to skiffle.
I hope you and Herrin don't let it go to your heads.

I was going to disagree with you, Paul, but then I realised that

a) Although I am a grown woman, I don't have a proper job and

b) My main reason for commenting is to wonder why on earth they cut Rich's shoes out of the picture in The Times. Such pretty shoes! Therefore

c) I am clearly not sensible at all.

Damn.

I love those shoes too. They make him look like he's in Bugsy Malone, which I know is a fantasy of his.

I think Herring should send the very nice reviewer the sweariest email ever written as he claimed that Richard nearly asked Al Pacino who would win in a fight, Othello or Scarface. It should be SHYLOCK or Scarface!!! This isn't an issue of article length, SHYLOCK AND OTHELLO ARE THE SAME F**PPING NUMBER OF LETTERS, YOU B*NTY!

It doesn't even SOUND as satisfying!

I think I'm a fairly sensible woman with a proper job, and I love the podcasts. Quincy ME made me crack a smile on the train, and I NEVER usually laugh out loud at anything when I'm on my own!

I am a grown woman with a proper job (in charge of a team of people, God help us) and I love and chortle at the podcasts.
However, I am not sensible!

Jenny e - are you Giles Coren?

Hmm did you leave the little bit of Stuart Lee's 3 star dvd review in on purpose? If so, nicely done. Subtle but amusing.

I wish I had, Jim.

Matt, I believe Jenny was deliberately parodying Giles Coren.

I watched the new Stewart Lee DVD on Monday. Great stuff. He has a bit about Stuart Maconie's love of list shows in there. Unreasonably harsh, but still very funny.

Great that RH ribs AC about these and SL is now having a go at the other side of your old double act.

I'm loving these companies, Go Faster Stripe and Real Talent, that are making these fab stand up shows available for those of us that don't get out to stand up very often.
