Here's a great line I caught on Sky News this morning: "Peter Mandelson is expected to make an unexpected return to government." I love 24-hour rolling news.
hurrah. labour have finally caved into my idea that there is a need to copy off popular tv formulas if they are ever to succeed.
so, whilst the Gordon Brown as The Apprentice boss idea seems to have gone on ice - as it is 'no time for a novice.' He has 'sacked the bladdy lodda them' n reshuffled. Then decided to go with the *New Tricks* theme, I suggested. New Tricks being the popular Sunday night detective show where grumpy old retired detectives Dennis Waterman (played by Peter Mandelson), James Bolam (Charles Clarke), and of course the gruff but loveable John Prescott (Alum Armstrong), waltz back into the modern world to use their olde worlde skills to solve all the ills of the scary modern world. Led of course by the redoubtable & still beautiful Margaret Beckett(Amanda Redman).
This one is an undoubted ratings/poll winner.
p.s. the situation on the high street is already better since the return of Mandy. Look at that M&S pullover, doesn't that just make you wanna rush out and buy yourself a lovely red v-neck? Try getting away with that look, George Osbourne! Pshaw and for shame.....
I know we're all trying to move on and I am really looking forward to watching "Recount" tonight.
However, for those of us that have had the pleasure of being a fly on the wall in Tommy Carcettis's office in recent years surely we cannot view the resignation of Ian Blair with anything other than a shrug and a so what. Is BJ a closet Wireista.
Seriously though, to all those carpers who didn't understand our fascination with parochial, fictional Baltimore politics I think there is real resonance with current events in London. Discuss.

Frankly I'm not surprised about this surprising new
I suppose it's appropriate that, since he was in at the beginning of the new Labour project, he should be there for the death-throes.

He looks silly wearing a pullover and a suit together.
What was actually said on the radio: "Mandelson went into No 10 and buried the hatchet with Gordon Brown".
What I heard:
"Mandelson went into No 10 and buried the hatchet in Gordon Brown".
A Freudian mis-hearing I think.

he should have worn a hoodie, to rile the Cameron team
I think it's a case of this being the only way Brown can stop Mandelson publicly criticising him.
My favorite take on this so far was the front page headline on The London Paper on Friday night: "Brown: I need you today, oh Mandy."
PS: Andrew - heard you on Michael Ball's show this morning. I have a lot of time for someone who says "sodomite" on Radio 2 on a Sunday morning!
First time rolling news have paid for itself since 911.
I read that as '24-hour rolling noise' which seems somewhat appropriate
