Today is the day that the first ever
Collings & Herrin & Jupitus & Wilding Festive Perfect Twelve Special Podcast comes out. We recorded it last week. In this special one-off podclash, we join Phill Jupitus and Phil Wilding in their posh studio: four men and a hat, discussing twelve festive things, including Christmas films, Christmas foodstuffs, Christmas carols and outfits we'd like to see Christmas turkeys wearing. All powered by one warm can of Carlsberg. Note: this is the lo-fi, extra-length
Collings & Herrin version, recorded on a laptop with one of us rather louder than the other due to the poor placement of said laptop; the studio version - shorter and properly miked and equalised and everything - is available from the usual Phill and Phil outlets. Collect 'em all!

Is this your way of saying merry Christmas to all your loyal readers, Andrew, and best wishes for 2009?
If so, the same to you.
To everyone involved, thank you for this and indeed all the other Podcasts you've generously provided throughout the year. 2008 was certainly the year I discovered what Podcasts were about (a bit late I know), and long may it continue!
A very Merry Christmas to you all.
Is there anyway that we can download the Jupitus recording without using itunes?
As much as I love the lo-fi version, is there anywhere you can download Phil and Phils version without having to use itunes?
I'm downloading it now. I look forward to becoming the only person to bother to listen to both versions.
I will definitely listen to both podcasts but I'm in a quandary over which to listen to first. Would it be better to listen to the full-length version first, then the nice studio version, or vice versa? Its like if you watch a film, you would tend to watch the normal length version of the film first, then if you liked it you would watch the “Directors cut” with extras or whatever, which would add some extra spice to it. However sometimes it is good to see the behind the scenes stuff first as that would then add some extra knowledge when you see the polished version, which again would add to the enjoyment.
I hope you can appreciate my dilemma,
Dave (bored at work)
The Phill and Phil website is here, if you wish to download it away from the iTunes hegemony.
I haven't listened to their version yet. I suspect it will sound like we are guests on their radio show. Whereas on ours, it sounds like four men sitting in a room. You choose.
The RSS feed is here, thank you.

Phil(l) Wilding
There. Couldn't be simpler. None of us are supposed to be at work, by the way.
Still got a day at work tomorrow, so am looking forward to listening to the podcast (the extended version).
Merry Christmas to you all and your kin.
A Happy Winter Thing to you, Andrew. Play nice, now.
Thanks for the podcast, loved every minute of it :) I did end up doing a bit of a combo job, of course started on the collings and herrin version and then after about 10 minutes of their podcast starting switched over as I was having a little trouble hearing the illustrious Mr Herrin. Then switched back at the end for the last couple of minutes.
Personally, i prefer this version as it has that more homely feel to it. Saying that, I did notice one little teeny difference that the sound quality makes - Its much easier to catch everything that everyone says along with any little laughs and sniggers etc.
Can't wait to see what a difference the usb podstudio thingymajig will make :)
Am I the only one who found Phill Jupitus's constant use of the 'F' word gratuitous and a wee bit offensive? It's a odd as I've never been offended by anything said on the Collings and Herrin podcast and I usually find swearing both clever and funny, but Jupitus's foul mouth put me off a bit.
Maybe I'm too used to him on friendly panel games on which he rarely swears, I don't know...
Anyway, have a good Christmas, Mr Collins. Hope you get the Action Man clothes you want.
Loved the podcast, i listened to the C&H version first and am just downloading Phill and Phil's to hear what i was missing out on during the pauses. Oh and the singing was beautiful, it put me in a christmassy mood!
While i'm here - Merry Christmas Andrew (and everyone). I saw my favourite xmas advert yesterday, the Lockets one where a tiny robin sneezes and falls off his branch... it made me think of you, Andrew, and i'm not really sure why!
family tradition demands that we take the kids to Dublin zoo today.
I'm getting this podcast onto my iPod so that I can join in with the fesitivities by completely ignoring my family for just over an hour as we stare at the animals and contemplate our existence.
(beats going shopping though...)
I listened to the polished version first as I was in the car and thought it would be louder and easier to hear. Although it was good to hear all the jingles and a bit better audio quality I couldn't stand the thought of the directors cut being out there and listened to the extras just now.
I haven't listened to the podcast as yet, but I'm sure it will be great.
I just wanted to emerge from the lurking mists to say thanks for the stuff you and Richard put out, it makes washing the dishes and tidying the kitchen an enjoyable activity I actually look forward to.
Thanks, and have a happy Christmas.
merry christmas mr collins! as always, i have enjoyed ur blog immensely and look forward to moremoremore of it in 2009!

Merry Christmas AC. You have been cast as a player in our very own impending-disaster movie, over on Office Pest.
What you always wanted I'm sure.
I loved the postcast with the Phil's... As I've said before you've kept the wife and I up to date with UK news (!) since we moved to LA. I don't know where we would be without you and Mr. Herring.
Happy Christmas Andy Collings. x
A little late to the party, but just wanted to wish you a happy festive season and new year too and add my thanks for all the podcasts this year, I enjoyed them very much.
Just thought I'd mention that this was terrific. A wonderful first year for the pod, long my Collings and Herrin continue!
