Adam and show

I'm Spartacus, the comedy film-based panel comedy film game pilot I recorded for Radio 2 the other Friday is on this Thursday, at 10.30pm, and thereafter for a week on iPlayer. I haven't heard the edit, but we did two hours of live comedy in front of an appreciative audience in the BBC Radio Theatre, with Adam Buxton as host, and myself, Will Smith, Jon Holmes and bestselling author Emma Kennedy as panelists and the famous Redd Pepper, Tube driver turned voiceover king, sitting next to Adam and saying things in his voice. Much less detail than that here.

How bizarre, I genuinely expected that picture of Adam to be bearded and experienced genuine momentary confusion when I clicked on the link...
Anyway, I'll have a listen :)
looking forward to it AC!
Looking forward to it.
Why did you take down the post on the Where Are They Now piece (http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/apr/05/television-characters) in the G2? Second thoughts?
It's still in my Google Reader RSS feed.
Too angry, Stephen. I was in a bad mood. Don't really want evidence of my bad moods up on a blog. I wish I'd never posted it.
Fair enough. That's the problem with RSS readers though - they can keep entries posted in haste.
It came across as smart rather than angry IMO, but that's the benefit of a blog - you can make your own editorial decisions (and then have no editor to blame when things go wrong).
I was at the recording for I Am Spartacus, and it was great. However, did you realise that Will Smith kept stealing your popcorn?
I hope it is available on the iplayer Andrew; the thing seems to be held together with vinegar and brown paper at the moment I'm still waiting for the realaudio stream for the Now Show and Unbelievable Truth to become available, not to mention the TV shows that come and go without a working download link - sorry, this is a pet peeve. Saw Adam Buxton at the Pleasance a few years ago doing I, Pavel - very creative and funny - it's good to see him extending his public profile.
Sadly I'll miss it (out with the bone). Look forward to discussing it in person with you soon though!
Not related to the post, but can't resist telling you: solitary brambling on the feeder last week plus a wren strutting its stuff in the garden this morning.
On the BBC radio front is Banter ever coming back Andrew?
Banter is in limbo. It has not been recommissioned, but it has not been decommissioned. I wish they'd put us out of our misery. I can handle it. I've had one sitcom cancelled and even though I'm filling in for Mark Kermode this Friday and next Friday on 5 Live, BBC News haven't asked me to do his slot on the telly. There's no business like showbusiness.
That should be good Andrew. I'm glad to see the picture of Adam, as I can never tell which is which (they're a bit like Ant and Dec to me, in that respect).
Keep up the good work on the podcast and I look forward to catching you at one or more of your live shows up here in edinburgh later in the year.
All the best
Doug
LOL - really good show
"nice bit of watermelon smashing Andrew" - bet you don't hear that too often :-)
just listened and it was brilliant!
Very funny, well done. Hope to hear more of this programme in the future!
This was the only radio comedy to have me laughing out loud for ages, it was great. It reminded me of The 99p Challenge, but I suppose that shouldn't be surprising considering Jon Holmes, Andy Riley, Kevin Cecil and Tony Roche all worked on both.
However, your Brandon Lee joke was in disgustingly bad taste, I think Richard's been a bad influence on you... It was very funny, though. :)
Finally, a really funny Radio 2 comedy/quiz show. Commision "I, Spartacus," please, BBC.
It's a hilarious show.
I spurned Adam Buxton in years past, but now I can't understand why ... he's a genial and genuinely hilarious personality.
[I hear and see all this stuff from America, so take it as you will.]
