In
Collings & Herrin Podcast 59, we do something romantic that we've never done before and will never do again (you'll have to listen to find out exactly what). We also correct a heinous miscarriage of justice, consider the 39 complaints logged about ITV1's pornographic Saturday teatime talent show
Britain's Got Tassles, support the campaign to moan about the red elastic bands left by postmen on your path, consider the almost self-defeating generosity of the British Legion raffle, and warn Margaret off
The Apprentice not to pick up the soap when Nick is around, even though only one of us still watches
The Apprentice, which is a stupid programme. And only one of us is going to see
Star Trek.

She did say 'Yes' but I asked her in a more traditional way first thanks to a warning from Andrew that it may be a bit OTT and not so much Mills and Boon. She and I both found the podcast very tongue in cheek and despite a tempting offer from Richard she is sticking with me :)
Rob.
The Apprentice is not a stupid programme, you nasty man.
In addition - everything about Star Trek is awful. Everything.
Excellent podcast, and Andrew you will always be a hero to us. Though if I were you I'd be a bit weary, Richard is hinting a lot about how he's prepared to become a postbox.
Oh and Rob, why have you removed your picture from your website? You aren't that bad looking! Congrats on the yes btw.
The "Proposal" was the funniest thing I have heard in ages. I may have scared the ducks with my laughing. I hope they aren't too traumatised, I'll go back to the canal later to feed them by way of an apology.
Nice to have the podcast back on form.
I download the podcast from iTunes and for some reason #59 is just #56 again. Has anyone else had this problem?
I really enjoyed this podcast. The proposal was great but the main reason I liked it was that you got through a lot of news stories. I think the podcast is at it's funniest when Andrew is reading out the news and giving his own comment and then letting Richard butt in and slag of either the people in the news, the people reporting the news or Andrew himself.
Thanks
Number 10 in the overall iTunes chart on Monday afternoon. Ahead of Scott Mills, Adam and Joe, Karl Pilkington etc etc...
That is actually seriously impressive.
Andrew,
Derek Draper is NOT a psychologist. He claims to be a psychotherapist - he's probably not one of those either. Please see wikipedia, Ben Goldacres' bad science and Guido Fawkes' blogs and The Guardian.
As someone who aspires to be a psychologist, and wouldn't dream of calling myself one unless properly qualified, I am infuriated that Mr Draper is being referred to as such.
Wash your mouth out!
Charlie, you'll have to forgive my semantic confusion. I am no expert on psychology and its many outlets. Did he not re-train in that area? Don't blame me, blame the media for constantly telling me that he is a psychopath or whatever he is. (Don't mention Ben Goldacre round here! I'll have a look at Guido Fawkes though.)
Up to number 7 now.
(Yes, I'm sad. I know.)
Seeing as the iTunes chart is based only on new subscribers signing up, I reckon Andrew and Richard have spent the last couple of evenings clicking madly on the Subscribe button at iTunes over and over....
There has to be something sinister at work here... I just can't believe that iTunes usual punters have suddenly all developed good taste...!
He has a qualification from an American insitution. There is little restriction on who can call themselves a psychotherapist. It's quite interesting reading though.
I shall forgive you as I am massive fan of podcast. Am intrigued as to why I can't mention Goldacre.
Night night
You can mention Goldacre, Charlie. We have history, that's all. (I have since met him and we shook hands and everything.) He went after Gillian McKeith's PhD in the same way that Guido Fawkes has gone after Draper's. It's not quite the same though, as McKeith was only presenting a telly programme and trying to make people healthy, while Draper seems to have been back to his old tricks of trying to influence the outcome of a general election ie. something that affects all our lives. I read Fawkes' expose of Draper's qualifications with interest - very clever of Draper to say on his professional website that he studied in Berkley for three years, which might easily be read or understood as at Berkley for three years. Personally, I wouldn't pay to see a pyschotherapist who was a reasonably well-known public figure, especially one who worked for the Labour Party and made his name by strutting around and showing off about his influence to the private sector for large sums of money. But presumably there are some patients who would.
Andrew, what's going on? You two are NUMBER 6 in the overall top 10 now. Any ideas about how this extraordinary rise up the charts?
