Hello, Brighton

Looking forward to the first ever, tickets-only, non-charity, paying Collings & Herrin live podcast, 8.30 tonight at the Duke Of York's Picturehouse in Brighton. I believe there are a few tickets left. The podcast itself will be available either very late tonight, or early tomorrow morning, depending on Orange Mark's energy levels. BBC Weather says sunny intervals, 19 degrees on South coast, so here's hoping for a good day and maybe, just maybe, some Secret Dancing live onstage. (Richard is so busy he might just be writing the second draft of his book onstage. Still, I'd pay to see that.)

Did you watch the big game last night Andrew? I thought Barcelona were fantastic.
Orange Mark?
is that racist?
Does that mean we aren't going to get a good podcast until NEXT week or have you already done the 'attic' one for this week?
No, Orange Mark isn't racist, as Mark isn't actually orange. It's not even his actual nickname, but because we have only ever paid him in orange juice (as he refuses the more expensive coffee), it seems an apt and friendly nickname.
As for the ungrateful Len Don: no, we haven't recorded a "good" one in the attic; it's the "not good" one in Brighton or nothing this week.
So you're a frucist then?
Just remember Andrew, get Herring to drink a lot of liquid just before the show..I guarantee (that as long as it is non-alcoholic) that it will be a much better show for it especially towards the end ;)
Hope it all goes spiffingly. Sadly I can't be there, but will have flowers delivered to the dressing room.
Ooh, love the fact that you seem to be BBFC rated. Do you contain mild peril? Or will it be for the fact that attendees will finally be treated to scenes of a sexual nature that some may find disturbing?
Very best of luck with it all. I assume any pre-main event solo work won't be included in the podcast, what with the stringent 1:06 time limit? Or may we be treated to a special bonus Mitford Sisters podcast this week?
I believe the venue are going to record the whole thing for us, which means the tantalising prospect of releasing the whole thing as a bonus podcast, perhaps? The one hour, six minutes and 36 seconds version will be recorded on the laptop and posted up first thing in the morning. The extended version may take a day or two.
Thanks for all your good wishes. Richard and I have now arrived in Brighton and the vibes are good. They always are in Brighton.
Adam Smith, you aren't this Adam Smith, are you?

Don't really need an excuse to post this link, it's just extremely funny.

Great show last night Andrew! Thanks for taking the time to come down to Brighton and entertain us. Maybe you could return to the Dukes in your filmic capacity and talk us through a flick or something, they show some great films there. Lastly where is the crowd pic? I want to save myself looking in the mirror this morning!

Fabulous show last night..really was very funny and unique...you must come down again.
You are the sensible Ying to Rich's filthy Yang (although it is more shocking when you sometimes let rip). How you two are going to the 6music thing without swearing is going to be a minor miracle. I would consider installing a dump button.
I hope last night paid podcast keeps you in oatmilk for the foreseable future.
Good work.
Thanks, Andrew,
Top notch set in Brighton last night - particularly your piece about the Mitford sisters. Keep it special and don't release the DoY's recording so ungrateful gets like Len Don will never know how good it reeeaaalllyy was.
You caused a little local difficulty on the domestic front, though. I have been having oatmilk on my cereal for months, following your recommendation my wife pointing out an advert for it. Despite what Herrin says, it's fab and it's what god would have wanted us to drink if he existed. Anyway, you came on with your chocolate oatmilk and I whispered to my wife, who up until this episode I had looked on as my soul mate, that I was not aware of such a fantastic-sounding product. She glibly replied that she had known about it for ages! How could she have denied me the pleasure of consuming what must be the origin of the mythical ambrosia? Made for a very frosty ride home, I can tell you.
Anyway, thanks again and come back soon.
