Now will you take us seriously?
A talented artist called Darren Lacy, whose Big Brother-related artwork can be seen here, has drawn this funny cartoon of me and Richard. It sort of makes me wish I was a cartoonist again. But I'm not. I am this. Whatever this is. (Richard had his iPhone snatched today on the streets of Shepherd's Bush. I hope this picture cheers him up. Now we both have an exciting story to tell about our touch-screen phones: his was stolen by a tearaway who evaded police capture despite a Sweeney-style high-speed pursuit with sirens wailing; I broke the screen on mine while purchasing a spinach and cheese crepe at a rock festival. Whose story is more exciting? Anyway, we are both using rubbish spare phones - although I'm sticking to mine, and Richard has already ordered a new, and flashier, iPhone because he is a slave to the machines, and I am not. Ha ha.)Oh, here's another one.

Utter scum. The phone thief, I meant, not you, obviously. I do worry I come over all Daily Mail when I read stuff like this. Having said that, it's a wizard wheeze for getting a new iPhone out of the insurance company. Maybe Herrin knew the rabscallion involved.
I had to use my Sony Ericsson T18 last week. It brought back many memories. Mainly because it still had texts on from about 1999. I replied.
there's definitely a keith harris and orville thing going on in that there 'toon.
"Come on now Herr Ring, the boys and girls are waiting"

I used to live near Shepherd's Bush, up towards Latimer Road/Holland Park and I don't miss the tearaways let me tell you. It was like running the gauntlet sometimes, got a few thumps here and there over the years. I used to dress down to try and avoid unwanted attention. Used to avoid the Bush myself, pay a bit extra down Holland Park Tesco. I don't miss the queues for the toilets in pubs frequented by media types either :)
Glad you like the toons, I would be up the creak without my iPhone and would beat a theif with my babys sons head to protect it... Ok maybe not that much, but I love my iGizmo.
Thanks for the mention Andy:)
Do you still try to keep your hand in with the drawing? Or have you given it up completely like Artie Shaw giving up the clarinet?
this is all looking a little bit too much like cartoon versions of Laurel and Hardy for me.
Just sling on a couple of bowler hats and bob's your uncle.
Put the Virgilio Soldiers T-Shirts up in an online shop. ALL proceeds go to SCOPE or the Richard Herring iPhone Benevolent Fund... his choice.

I have an iPhone and always use BLAND earbuds rather than advertise I have one to the public. I am VERY wary as I am only a little fella and break easy!
Their last podcast had a lauran and hardy thing at the end. Was intended
Why is a caricature of Mark Steel included?
