Our
74th podcast is dedicated to
Tina Wiseman [
pictured], who - as you know - suddenly died last week, and was a great supporter of our work and an example to all comedy fans. Having promised to honour her memory with this week's podcast, we have been assured by her family and friends that she would have wanted us to stick to the usual podcast style - rude, puerile, pathetic, Daily Mail-baiting (down the comedy barometer we go!). So we have, in her honour. It's been a big week, with lots of misinformation and hate flying around, but also lots of love and support. But we manage to talk about the weather, organic food and the human chain around the former RAF Locking. In many ways, it's our own "Comedy Special", except we do actually care about comedy. As did Tina.

Tip for Caramel Digestives: Put them in the fridge then the caramel becomes hardened/brittle and snaps like a dime bar. Less mess and much more tasty!
Nice Podcast and nice tribute to Tina. Such a sad loss.

the caramels are rank, nice pod cast, hopefuly we've heard the last of all this is Richard a racist furore it was getting over the top and leaking everywhere i went on the internet can we get back to filth, abuse and oat milk from now on.
have been listening to your podcast from day 1. Your last one made me shed a tear for someone I never knew but wished I had. God's a bastard the non existing twat.
Thanks for the podcast - absolute right balance struck. Let's hope no more shit happens before the next podcast and you have sweet F.A. to talk about at Edinburgh save for your burgeoning love for each other - for five days on the trot! And if you hope for the opposite, what does that make you?
All the best
Balance spot on regarding the tribute to Tina, I thought it was fantastically done - considering it's an unscripted podcast!
Interesting to hear about the RAF base, my father was in the RAF when I was a kid and I remember going to the cinema on the base and having to show ID to pass armed guards to get to the pictures. They then let 12/13 year olds watch 15s/18s without ID.
The whole security issue of RAF bases has always been a bit of a mystery to me. As I mentioned they were always protected by "guys with guns", yet once a year they let all the public in for an open day where you could sit in the planes and pretend to be a pilot etc. Odd.
Great podcast and yes, definitely the right balance and tone. Very moving. And funny, of course.
Good luck for Edinburgh!
Hey, Andrew, you have yet to plug your appearance on the Word podcast. You should do, you are interesting and amusing on it.
You got the tone spot on, I thought.
What's going to happen for the next couple of weeks whilst Richard is Edinburgh and you're not? A natural break before the 5-in-a-row, or have you prerecorded something?
You can get fruit and vegetables in Scotland, it's just deep-fried first.

Really enjoyed today's podcast! I had to live at Locking Castle for a few months once, nice to hear it mentioned!
Can I say that podcast 74 was as funny as it was moving. I've listened to it twice,as I played it to a friend today and she wept both tears of laughter and sadness. The section about wishing other fans could of died was the funniest thing I have heard in years. A great piece of work by you both, although I must say with all the shit your co-conspirator had this week it must if been harder than ever to be funny. ( his guestbook is down so please just pretend to be offended I'm blowing slightly more smoke up his arse) but cudos to you both. This was a real comedy classic. I've said this elsewhere but all I can say if Tina has inspired this much love from people who at best barely knew her, my heart goes out to those close to her. It must be a void I can luckily only try not to imagine.
I missed Stewart Lee bequeathing Rich to you. Was there an official announcement or was it a gentlemen's agreement?
A tip for those caramel digestives: eat two of them together, placed back to back so that the chocolate/caramel parts are "sandwiched" in the middle. This should be done as an alternative to the refridgerated option, as it works best when the chocolate/caramel parts are warm enough to melt together slightly. Two together in this formation don't snap and crumble because the biscuits are glued and act as spines to each other. Try it you Collings and Herrin!

Too many emotions in 1hr 6mins.
I was upset about Tina, furious at that idiot Logan (why can he STILL not simply apologise? The 'retraction' is pathetic) and luaghed hard at the usual bickering and silliness.
Loved it. As with the previous 73 blurts.
Good work Andrew. Oh and the other fella. :) :(
