Two

This is not a screen grab of me on yesterday's The One Show on BBC1. It is the whole of my appearance of yesterday's The One Show on BBC1, which was brief, to say the least, but still meant that I got to sit and chat to the mighty Germaine Greer in the BFI bar about history and Hollywood, which was a treat in itself. It also ruins my record of being on every TV show but only once. I have now been on The One Show twice. Bah! Bang goes the title of my next book: The One Shows. (Hey, I'm apparently a Film Buff. Don't tell anyone, but I'm not.)

A list of every job title you've been captioned/introduced with on TV/radio might be interesting.
Hi Andrew,
Listened to your Kermode stand-in podcast this morning and really enjoyed it - apart from the rather abrupt ending.

This, however is a screen grab of Adrian Chiles's undone zip on said same programme. The shame.

I mean this in the NICEST way possible (even though it wont sound it), but you know how in Alien Ressurection Ripley finds that room with all the failed clones of herself that are a bit distorted and not quite right? The picture of you with this post looks like what would happen if they did it with Trent Reznor!
I had a little smile when you came on
I hope you were paid handsomely for your contribution.
It make me wonder how much footage gets shot for most interviews, reports etc and gets lost on the cutting room floor.
I can't think saving money or making the most of their resources is at the top of the BBC's agenda.
Looks like you're staring at a tribble.
I fully expect to see you appearing on News at 10 next, after being accused of killing Mark Kermode and stealing his part-time work!
If it's any consolation, I have just heard you on a re-run of 'Listen Against' where you were advocating that Radio 4's Gardener's Question Time was Racist :)
Somehow after listening to the C&H Podcasts all these 'years' it was funnier than perhaps it would have been at the time.
well..to me anyway.
Hi Andrew, hope you are enjoying the joys of old reekie - have you guys started the live podcasts series ? Are you planning on putting these up on itunes?
Best Wishes,
Matthew Phillips
Hi, Matthew - I'm not in Edinburgh yet (as my appearance on BBC News as Mark Kermode will attest tomorrow), but will be joining Richard on Tuesday. All five of our live podcasts will be available on iTunes and the British Comedy Guide in the usual way, each day. It's going to be a monster, for all of us.
Live podcasts: August 19-23. Each will be announced here in the usual way. Looking forward to it immensely.
Hi Andrew, of course, sorry i forgot about the BBC appearance, Edinburgh is a great city, its going to be fascinating listening, yourself and Richard have such a good chemistry that 1 hour 6 mins each day probably wont be enough for you.
Did you see the article in the evening standard by Andrew Gilligan titled, 'How To Beat The Ticket Inspector', amazingly a double page spread with tips! The first being buying a ticket before you board a train, which totally misses the point. It's not about beating the ticket checker, but just paying for a service you are using! Plus a big bloated picture of him foaming at the mouth. Working at the barrier is going to be a joy for the next week or so!
I saw the Gilligan article over somebody's shoulder (How To Beat The Evening Standard By Not Buying It.) Seemed a bit irresponsible - was he trying to prove that there are gaps in the system of Network Rail, or was he just being a anarchist? (Actually, I'll go and look it up online.)
anarchist, hmmm got me thinking "I am an antichrist, I am an anarchist" I was listening to a mark thomas podcast yesterday, v interesting he was talking about the banks and how they need to be destroyed which he liked the sound of as it had the whiff of anarchy about it. Also a guy on Big Brother called Halfwit was talking at the beggining about how he was an anarchist and training to be a young conservative polititian.
Personally the term anarchy does not fill me full of confidence that they want a more positive future. anarchy might mean more freedom but I'd rather have Equality and Justice than freedom. I think thats where america went wrong as freedom can be interpreted as the freedom to bear arms the freedom to kill the freedom to not pay tax the freedom to be selfish and greedy. Freedom of speech can be taken too far like abu hamzer did.
You only have to look at the Robbie Williams song to see that Freedom is not always a good thing.
It seemed strange that Andrew Gilligan decided on this, plus to take up half a page with a photo of his poorly toned physique. I think they are going with 'How To Carry Out A Heist in Suits and Get Away with it', no sorry that was Monday. Did you notice how there was no mention of the correlation between ticketless travel and crime on the railways or the increasing prevalence of staff assaults. Good old Evening Standard....I think i need to get out of London for a few days it's getting to me!
Is 'film buff' not doing you a bit of a disservice?
I quite like it, F-C
I thought it might be selling you short, but if you're happy...
